ANHYDRITE     HARDNESS: 3.5
 
-From the Greek "Anhydros"="waterless"
-Chemical formula = Ca(SO4) vs. Gypsum= Ca(SO4)*2H20
-Forms from dehydration of the mineral gypsum
-Often associated with halite in marine evaporite deposits
-Light blue anhydrite is sometimes called angelite
