FLINT
-A type of chert, an extremely fine-grained, silicon-rich
sedimentary rock -May contain fossils -Fine-grained texture facilitates
splintering & flaking into sharp shards, making flint useful for
blades, arrowheads, etc.
-Creates a spark when struck against steel -Used in
flintlock rifles to make a spark and ignite gunpowder
